50 Present Ideas For Everyone In Your Family

Hexbug Junkbots

I was impressed with the attention to detail in this toy. There are 50 pieces of “trash” inside the mini dumpster that you can use to create several Junkbots characters. You could get anything from a washing machine, an old TV, a discarded take-out box or an old boot. It’s really fun to see what’s inside each container.

Holy Land Market Olive Wood Ornaments

These ornaments are hand carved from Bethlehem. They come in a set of 12 and each ornament shows a piece of the Christmas story. These would make a lovely, heartfelt gift. I like giving these as a family gift with a plate of cookies or another treat.

Oven Bake Clay

This clay comes in a set of 24 different colors. My kids love oven bake clay and we have a tradition of making tiny ornaments Christmas Eve. Put some Christmas music on and my kids will happily sit at the table for hours making silly little things to hang on the Christmas tree! It’s easy to use and stays soft until you bake it. Just be careful what you leave it on before you bake it! If you leave it stuck to any hard plastics, it will melt the plastic.

Mini Mochi Squishy Toys

These are so cute and squishy! They make a great stocking stuffer or party favors. They come in a pack of 45 random shapes. We got everything from a loaf of bread to a little alien guy. My kids got a kick out of seeing what the next shape was gonna be and they traded among each other.

Natural Roots Variety Pack Sprouting Seeds

If you have any amount of aspiring gardener in your body, you’ll love this. All you need is a container and water! You can sprout your own micro-greens on the counter and it’s so easy! It only takes a few days and then you can add them to your sandwiches or make a salad. I love it! Makes me feel so healthy and capable.

HEELYS Men’s Pro 20 (Little Big Kid/Adult) Tennis Shoe

These are a great gift for that active person in your life. It takes a little time to get the hang of skating around on your heels but once you do, it’s like having fidget toys attached to your feet. These are the specific pair that we bought and I’ve found the shoes to be well made and the wheels to be really solid. The wheels can be completely popped out with a tool that comes with the shoes so they can just be normal shoes as well.

Seeking Persephone

This is my FAVORITE book right now. It’s a proper romance (so it’s appropriate) and it’s a play on Beauty and the Beast! There’s romance, heroism, excitement, humor. I loved it! It sent me on a rabbit hole reading a bunch more books in the series and it’s so worth it!

What Is Browned Butter?

Brown butter, also called browned butter, comes from melting butter and continuing to cook it until the milk solids in the butter toast and turn brown.

This creates an amazing caramel flavor and color. A lot of people describe it as nutty. I think it also has a rich cheesy smell to it. That sounds kind of off-putting in a sweet treat but it’s so good!

This difference in flavor is incredible and when paired with sugar, it makes the most amazing caramel frosting without the same amount of effort as regular caramel.

Supplies For Puffy Paint Window Clings

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that you need to buy 3D (dimensional) fabric paint. That’s what you call puffy paint. Regular paint won’t work because it won’t really have enough thickness to it when it dries.

You can purchase 3D fabric paint from most craft stores or online or I’ve heard you can make it yourself. Just mix white school glue and shaving cream in equal parts and add a little food coloring.

Leftover Oatmeal? Make These Amazing Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!

October 18, 2024 by goodenoughandstuff Leave a Comment

left over oatmeal pumpkin chocolate ship cookies on a white plate with oats and chocolate chips around the plate on a red table

Use your leftover oatmeal from breakfast to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! They’re super moist, pillowy and so delicious!

If you’re like me then you’ve made the mistake of making too much oatmeal for breakfast many times.

I don’t know why but I consistently think I don’t have to measure anything and my kids look like they’re REAL hungry this morning. But lo and behold, I inevitably end up with cups and cups of uneaten oatmeal.

I guess my pride can’t handle not being that person who can just eyeball everything.

A lot of the recipes I looked up only use 1/2 a cup of oatmeal. They’re probably delicious but if there’s only a half of a cup left, I’m gonna pretend I don’t see it as I wash the bowl.

How to Make Sweet and Sour Popcorn Chicken and Sauce

September 30, 2024 by goodenoughandstuff Leave a Comment

popcorn chicken in sweet and sour sauce orange sauce

This popcorn chicken recipe is a family favorite and my kids get excited every time they see me cooking it. It’s moist, crispy, flavorful and the sauce is to die for and so easy to make!

This takes a little time to stand there and cook but the food disappears so fast once it’s ready!

How to Make Popcorn Chicken

Take 2 pound of raw chicken and cut into bite sized pieces. I buy boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, just whatever is cheapest. Then cut off any grisly bits or any little bits of bone shards that sometimes get missed when you buy the cheap cuts.

The Best Homemade Brownies | Easy Sheet Pan Treats

February 10, 2024 by goodenoughandstuff Leave a Comment

Want to make homemade brownies SO GOOD they don’t need any added chocolate chunks? These brownies are fudgy, flavorful and hold their own against other over-the-top desserts. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a warm brownie.

I always make a festive pan of homemade brownies for teachers at Christmas time. It’s easy, cheap, and everyone loves brownies!

Homemade Brownies From Amanda

This recipe was given to me by my oldest sister, Amanda. She is so loving, sweet, and a spiritual giant. And she has the kindest soul. There were 6 girls in my family and Amanda was really into health and fitness. I have a lot of memories of doing workout videos together in pajamas.

We also all loved to bake treats 🙂 Not the best combo if you’re looking for certain results, I realize now, but we can recognize a good recipe when we see one!

This is my mom and all of us kids. My sister Amanda is holding me on the left. I think I was about 5 years old.

When she emailed me the recipe, she said chocolate chips and frosting don’t do it justice.

And our mom said “Don’t mess with perfection!”

It is totally true! These homemade brownies really can stand on their own two feet! I added chocolate chips to this Christmas batch because it was a present but my kids ate some too and they all told me they preferred them without the chocolate chips.

Oh well! Their teachers just had to suffer through eating that extra chocolate.
