triple layer key lime cheesecake cookie bars

These triple layer cookie bars are awesome! They’re chewy, crunchy, sweet, tangy (that’s the cheesecake fluff on top), and the perfect treat to share for St. Patrick’s Day this year!

*Scroll to the bottom for the FREE PRINTABLE recipe!

There are three delicious layers to this cookie bar and they’re all so good you could eat them separately.

Let’s start with the topping.

Cheesecake Fluff for Cookie Bars

You might remember this topping from my Rainbow Cheesecake Cookies. I used different types of Kool-aid to flavor the cheesecake fluff and I paired it with a cinnamon cookie.

It was delicious, zippy, and tangy. You can check that post out HERE.

They tasted like sherbet!

While I was experimenting for that recipe, I realized I could use lime drink mix powder and make it taste just like Key Lime Pie Filling.

Our whole family enjoys when we have fish tacos for dinner. Even our guinea pig, Georgie, likes fish taco night – because he gets the vegetable peels.

He always looks this alarmed.

This is my husband’s recipe. He is a better cook than me, by far. He just understands how different spices and flavors go together and likes to experiment.

How to Sew a Beautiful Cushion Cover | Easy Zipper-free Envelope

January 17, 2022 by goodenoughandstuff 4 Comments

Learn how to sew a lovely Cushion Cover with this step-by-step tutorial. This is an envelope style cover so no zipper needed!

A neighbor was throwing this out. Looks like they attempted to paint it blue and didn’t like the results. Looks good to me. I’m still deciding if I should cover the whole thing.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve taken on the huge task of slip covering our vintage couch.

It’s a big job but honestly not as hard as I thought it would be. One of the best parts was making the cushions!

partially finished couch clip cover with a cushion cover, all made out of bleached drop cloth
Here’s how it’s going pretty far. Work in progress and it’s being lived on by all of us. I’ll take some better pictures when it’s done.

I’ve been making the cover out of bleached drop cloth. You can watch a short video on how to bleach it here:

If you make a bunch of piping beforehand, the cushion making process is pretty straightforward.

Check out my blogpost on how to make piping HERE. There are two videos so you can see the whole process.

I was able to make a smaller cushion cover for a chair upstairs in just one morning before my kids woke up. Mostly.

They were up just as I was finishing so I gave some morning hugs and listened to some wacky dream explanations 🙂

How to Sew Piping for Upholstery | It’s Easy!

Piping is an easy way to add polish to any upholstery project. It’s great for re-upholstery, furniture covers, decorative pillows, and other craft projects.

I’m using bleached drop cloth for my piping because that’s what I’m making our couch cover out of. It’s durable, bleachable, and has that home-spun, cottage vibe. So nice.

You can check out my blog post about making Drop Cloth Potholders. I talk all about how I bleached the drop cloth and materials to use.

*** This project can be as easy as cutting strips and sewing the cord in. I’m showing how I went about it and problems and solutions I found along the way.

How to Make Drop Cloth Potholders | Last Minute Gift

December 18, 2021 by goodenoughandstuff Leave a Comment

three bleached drop cloth potholders with Christmas embroidery on the tops

Learn how to make lovely, durable, and inexpensive drop cloth potholders. You can make them for your own use or give them as handmade gifts from the heart.

drop cloth potholder with simple embroidered trees
This potholder remains unfinished as I write this because it’s not the boss of me.

I’m trying to make a couch cover for our awesome but currently sad, vintage couch out of drop cloth. We’ve had the couch for a few years and the arms are all ripped up. Six kids are hard on furniture! My two year old will now watch cartoons while he absent-mindedly picks fluff out of it. Yikes.

I saw a few people use bleached drop cloth to make furniture covers so I’m going that route. It’s durable and you can bleach the heck out of it, which will come in handy with a million sticky fingers on the loose.

I’ll have to finish it and live with it for a few months before I can form my own opinion about its effectiveness.

Hopefully, I won’t have wasted my time when I’m finished and I’ll share the process with you guys.

As a result of this large sewing project, I have a lot of scrap drop cloth to use up.

Please watch the video along with the tutorial for the drop cloth potholders. It can be a little confusing trying to explain some of the steps but the video clears things up.

Plus you’ll be supporting my Youtube channel and I really appreciate that! 😊

This time I made a cake.

Apples are great because you can let them sit on your counter for a month, (while your 13 year old complains daily because they’re in his chore) and they won’t go bad… mostly.

I bought a large box of Fuji apples because I thought I liked Fuji apples.

Turns out they’re gross and really plain. At least this box was.

No tartness at all, barely sweet. Bleh.

It was like eating crunchy water.

So now I had a an entire box of unpalatable apples to use up.

There’s nothing like a large pile of apples staring at you for a month to make you feel like a failure.

But who’s laughing now, you dang apples?!
